Thank you for ordering from Galway Cakes

We are a home-based bakery located in Galway, Ireland. We carefully bake, pack, and ship our cookies and brownies so they arrive fresh and ready to enjoy.

1. Where We Ship

We currently ship orders across Ireland.

At this time, we do not offer international shipping unless stated otherwise on our website or agreed in advance.

2. Processing Times

We offer two types of orders: Weekly Order Collection items and standard website orders.

For items that are part of our Weekly Order Collection, orders must be placed by Friday. These orders will be baked, packed, and shipped the following Monday.

If a Weekly Order Collection order is placed after Friday, it will be included in the next weekly order cycle and shipped the following Monday.

For all other orders that are not part of the Weekly Order Collection, orders will usually be prepared and shipped within 5 working days.

3. Weekly Order Collection

Our Weekly Order Collection is designed for customers who would like to order selected cookies, brownies, or other baked goods on a weekly basis.

To receive your order in the upcoming weekly shipment, please place your order by Friday. Orders from this collection are shipped on Monday.

Orders placed after the Friday cut-off will not be shipped the immediate Monday. Instead, they will be shipped the next Monday after that.

4. Shipping Days

Weekly Order Collection items are shipped on Mondays.

Standard orders that are not part of the Weekly Order Collection will be shipped within 5 working days from the date the order is placed, unless otherwise stated on the product page or agreed in advance.

We do our best to ship orders as quickly as possible while ensuring that all baked goods are prepared fresh and packed carefully.

5. Shipping Costs

Shipping costs are shown at checkout before you complete your order.

Shipping fees may vary depending on order size, delivery location, courier rates, or any promotions available at the time.

6. Order Tracking

Where tracking is available, you will receive tracking details by email or SMS once your order has been dispatched.

Please use the tracking information provided to follow your delivery and arrange collection or redelivery if needed.

7. Delivery Address

Customers are responsible for providing the correct delivery details at checkout, including:

  • Full name
  • Full delivery address
  • Eircode
  • Phone number
  • Email address

We are not responsible for failed or delayed deliveries caused by incorrect, incomplete, or missing delivery information.

We will do our best to update the address before dispatch, but we cannot guarantee changes once the order has been processed or shipped.

8. Missed or Failed Deliveries

If no one is available to receive the parcel, the courier may leave a delivery notice, attempt redelivery, leave the parcel in a safe place, or send it to a collection point, depending on their delivery process.

It is the customer’s responsibility to follow the courier’s instructions and collect the parcel within the required timeframe.

Because our products are fresh and perishable, we cannot guarantee freshness where delivery is missed, delayed due to customer unavailability, or not collected on time.

Refunds may not be available in these cases.

9. Delays

We do our best to dispatch orders on time, but once an order has been handed over to the courier, delivery is outside our direct control.

We are not responsible for courier delays, weather disruptions, public holiday delays, strikes, incorrect address details, or other events outside our reasonable control.

However, if your parcel is significantly delayed, please contact us and we will do our best to assist.

10. Damaged Parcels

We pack our baked goods carefully, but damage can sometimes happen during delivery.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with:

  • Your order number
  • Clear photos of the damaged product
  • Clear photos of the packaging
  • A short description of the issue

We will review the issue and may offer a replacement, partial refund, full refund, or store credit where appropriate.

11. Freshness on Arrival

Our cookies and brownies are packaged to stay fresh during normal delivery times.

Once delivered, please follow any storage instructions provided on the packaging or product page.

We are not responsible for quality issues caused by incorrect storage, delayed collection, exposure to heat, or failure to follow storage guidance after delivery.

12. Local Collection or Local Delivery

Where available, local collection or local delivery options may be shown at checkout.

Local collection or delivery times must be agreed in advance or selected during checkout.

If you are unable to collect or receive your order at the agreed time, please contact us as soon as possible. Missed collections or local deliveries may affect the freshness of your order and may not be eligible for a refund.
